Read 1 John 4:7-12

Walking next door shows you love God because…

  1. God’s love is intrinsic to His nature. (v.7)

  2. God’s love is in us through the Spirit. (v.8)

  3. God’s love is never quiet. (v.9)

  4. God’s love is always seeking. (v.10)

  5. God’s love is shown off through us. (v.12)


GOING DEEPER
  1. Remember a time when you really felt the love of God, or you showed it off in your life. Explain.

  2. Read John 3:16-20, Romans 5:8. What was God’s motivation to send His Son to the world?

  3. Read 1Corinthians 12. What further insight does this give us about God’s love?

  4. Read Romans 13:8-10. What do these verses say y about love?

  5. In what ways can you love God and others better?

Read Hebrews 13:17-25

We can be steadfast in Christ by….

1. Trusting in our leaders. (v.17)

  • They are called to oversee.

  • They are accountable for overseeing.

  • They are to oversee joyfully.


2. Praying for our leaders. (vv.18,19)

  • Protection, direction, correction,

  • and devotion.

3. Receiving from our leaders. (vv.21-25)

  • A blessing from the Great Shepherd.

  • An equipping to do His will.

  • An exhortation to live out.


GOING DEEPER
  1. Remember a time when you gave up on something. Explain. How did you feel about giving up?

  2. Read Romans 5:1-5. Where do we stand with God and how?

  3. According to the above verses what should we do in our sufferings and what does suffering produce?

  4. Read James 1:2-4. Why is steadfastness or perseverance so important?

  5. In what area can you be more steadfast in your faith. Make a plan this week and live it out!
