Read Luke Chapter 15:11-32


“It is not despair, for despair is only for those who see the end beyond all doubt. We do not.” ~ Gandalf


1. The Truth defines us.

a. We belong to God – this is our identity.

b. Everyone belongs to God – this is how we see everyone.

c. No one defines you accept God – the world hates you because of this truth.

2. The Truth convicts us.

a. We belong to God BUT – sin separates us from Him.

b. God’s conviction – is met with grace.

c. There is no condemnation – for those in Christ.

3. The Truth gives us purpose.

a. It includes you and me – INVITE

b. Why wouldn’t you – INVITE

c. You don’t do it alone – INVITE

1. Lost people matter greatly to God.

  • All people are created in God’s image.

  • All people have an eternal soul.

2. Lost people warrant an all-out search.

  • The search doesn’t stop.

  • The search is an active one.

3. Lost people once found, are worth celebrating over.

  • The lost will be found.

  • Heaven rejoices over repentance.

GOING DEEPER
  1. Remember a time when you lost something and you had to search frantically to find it. What happened?

  2. In Luke 15, which parable can you relate to the most and why?

  3. Read Gen.1:26; Isaiah 44:2; Ephesians 1:4. What do these verses say about you? Do you think you are valuable to God?

  4. Read Isaiah 53:6 and John 10:11-15. What do these verses tell us about the lost and how they are found?

  5. Who do you know who is lost and what are you doing to help them be found?
