Theology 101: God is... So, We are... (8.20)

Read Ephesians 2:1-10

“God sees the finished product of who we are, that’s why He pushes us so relentlessly to get there.” ~Asil Treblig

God is… gracious, peaceful, full of goodness, generous, sovereign, loving, inclusive, relational, forgiving, all-knowing, all-powerful, a promise keeper, and glorious…

1. A merciful and just God.

So, in Christ we are… saints, full of faith, immeasurably blessed, chosen, adopted, redeemed, forgiven, wise, understanding, hopeful, heirs with Christ, sealed with the Holy Spirit and a reflector of God’s glory…

2. Saved from sin.

3. Saved by love.

4. Saved into life.

5. Saved for a purpose.

6. Saved by grace.

7. Saved through faith.

8. Saved unto good works.

GOING DEEPER
  1. Remember a time when you really felt loved by God. How was it expressed and how did you feel about it?

  2. Read Romans 5:1-11. What does this say about God’s love and how we should react to it?

  3. Read John 10:1-21. What do these verses say about Jesus and eternal life, especially John 10:10?

  4. Read Romans 8:28-30. What is God’s purpose for us according to these verses?

  5. Are you experiencing life to the fullest and living in God’s love and grace. Why or why not?
