Titus 1:5-9

“Failure doesn’t come by not reaching your goals but from not having them in the first place.” ~Asil Treblig

Good:

  • Agathos – What is in accord with and promotes godly character.

  • Kalos – Moral beauty. The outward appearance of the goodness God does inside of us that works its way out and inspires others.

Christlike character should be the goal of us all, especially:

  1. Character in public.

Above reproach

  1. Character in relationships.

In your marriage

In your parenting

  1. Character in conduct.

Should not be overbearing, quick tempered, given to drunkenness, violent, or pursuing dishonest gain

Should be hospitable, love what is good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined

  1. Character in teaching.

Encouraging yourself and others

Refuting those in opposition

Titus 1:1-4

The Apostle Paul was a good example to Titus and his followers. We can be a good example too when we...

  1. Realize we are servants of God and sent with a message.

  2. Are growing in our faith and knowledge of the truth, which leads to godliness.

  3. Are resting on the promise of the certain hope of eternal life.

  4. Use our gifts and talents from God at His appointed season.
