Isaiah 9:1-7


“If we aren’t experiencing the glory of God, we may still be wrapped in our graveclothes.” ~Asil Treblig


Jesus Christ changes our gloom to glory through…


1. His Radiance. (vv.2,3)

· Extreme darkness to everlasting light

· Extreme sadness to everlasting joy


2. His Rescue. (vv.4,5)

· Deliverance from bondage to freedom

· Deliverance of His righteous wrath


3. His Role. (v.6)

· As Son of man and Son of God

· As miracle worker, counselor, all powerful, eternal father, reconciler


4. His Reign. (v.7)

· Is eternal and expected

· Is just and righteous

· Will happen


Titus 3:9-15


“We make a living by what we earn, we make a life by what we give” ~Asil Treblig


Good:

  • Agathos – What is in accord with and promotes godly character.

  • Kalos – Moral beauty. The outward appearance of the goodness God does inside of us that works its way out and inspires others.


  1. Look out for false teachers. (v.9)

· What they say is unprofitable and useless.


  1. Look out for factious people. (vv.10,11)

· They are warped and sinful.


  1. Look out for fellow servants. (vv.12,13)

· We all need help and encouragement.


  1. Look out for faithful friends. (vv.14,15)

· We all need love and grace
