Ephesians 6:10-18

Our Strength to Stand:

1. Is in the Lord.

2. Comes from the Lord’s power in us.


Our Need to Stand:

3. The Devil is scheming against us.

4. The forces of evil battle against us.


Our Preparedness to Stand: Put on...

5. The belt of truth.

6. The sandals of peace through the Gospel.

7. The breastplate of righteousness.

8. The shield of faith.

9. The helmet of salvation.

10. The sword of the Spirit.

11. The privilege of prayer.


GOING DEEPER


  1. Remember a time when you had to stand for something important in your life. Explain.

  2. Read 2 Thessalonians 2:13-17. What insight can we gain about standing strong in the Lord?

  3. Read Philippians 3:12-4:1. What further insight can be gained from these verses?

  4. Will there be a time when we won’t have to stand for Christ? Ponder what that will be like.

  5. What are some specific things you can do to strengthen your walk with Jesus?

Matthew 18:1-9

Greatness in the Kingdom requires…


  1. Childlike humility. (1-4)

· To repent

· To obey

· To grow

· To persevere


2. The eyes and heart of Christ. (5)

· To see people as Jesus does.

· To treat people as Jesus would.


3. A Christ-like example. (6, 7)

· Influencing others toward Jesus.

· Counter acting the world’s influence.


4. Taking Christ-likeness seriously. (8, 9)

· Rid yourself of stumbling blocks.

· Be resolute before temptation.

  1. Have you ever wanted to be really good at something? Explain.

  2. Read Mark 10:35-45. What did the disciples want and why?

  3. How did Jesus reply to the disciples?

  4. What kind of greatness do you want and why?

  5. What do you have to do in order to make Christ great in your life?
