Sermon Notes

Read Psalm 100

“Why do we think so hard before we give a sincere 'thank you.' Thankfulness should be a mindset not a choice.” ~Asil Treblig

Let’s give thanks on purpose and…

  1. Shout to God with joy.

  2. Serve God with gladness.

  3. Experience God to the fullest.

  4. Come to God with thanksgiving and praise.

Because God is good, loving, and faithful.

GOING DEEPER
  1. Remember a time when you were super thankful to someone or to God for something.

  2. What are things in your life that get in the way of thankfulness?

  3. Read Psalm 95:1-7. What commands are given and why?

  4. Read Philippians 4:4-7. With what attitude should we pray to God.

  5. Count your blessings today and thank the person who put them all in place.

Read Luke 22:31-62

“As Christians we never fail, we are just given opportunities to grow in Christ likeness… the choice is ours.” ~ Asil Treblig

Grace: God’s riches at Christ’s expense. All we need now, to live the abundant life.

Reclamation: God taking what seems like a failure from our perspective and turning it into a Kingdom success!

When grace hits our failures, reclamation can happen! But we have to…

  1. Understand our condition. (vv.31, 32a)

  2. Own our failures. (v.62)

  3. See things from God’s perspective. (v.32b)

  4. Learn from our mistakes.

  5. Run to God.

  6. Receive from God.

GOING DEEPER
  1. Remember a time when you failed at something. How did you feel about it? How do you feel now?

  2. Read Gen.50:15-21. What do these verses tell us about God?

  3. Read Gen.3:20-24. What did God do for Adam and Eve after their epic failure and why did He do it?

  4. Recall as many failures in scripture as you can. What was the outcome of these failures? How did God react?

  5. What failure in your life do you need to bring before God? Who can you encourage with God’s reclamation today?
