Read Acts 2:42-47

We Commit in Jesus’ Name!


Commit: To obligate or pledge oneself. To be devoted to a particular course or action.

  1. We commit to God’s Word.

  2. We commit to God’s koinonia.

  3. We commit to God’s sacraments.

  4. We commit to God’s communication.

  5. We commit to God’s provision.

  6. We commit to God’s praise.


GOING DEEPER
  1. Remember a time when you really had to commit to something. What was it? What did you have to do?

  2. Read 1 Corinthians 15:58. What does it mean to be steadfast? What is the work of the Lord?

  3. Read Philippians 2:12. What does it mean to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.

  4. Read 2 Peter 1:3-11. What does it look like to be committed to Jesus from these verses?

  5. How are you showing your commitment to Jesus now…How can it be shown more?

Read Ephesians 3:20,21

God is gracious, peaceful, full of goodness, generous, sovereign, loving, inclusive, relational, forgiving, all-knowing, all-powerful, a promise keeper, glorious, merciful, just, peaceful, intentional, a great gift giver, experiential, and…


1. The ultimate collaborator.


So, in Christ we are saints, full of faith, immeasurably blessed, chosen, adopted, redeemed, forgiven, wise, understanding, hopeful, heirs with Christ, sealed with the Holy Spirit, a reflector of God’s glory, saved, unified, assigned purpose and meaning, servants, changed, and…


2. We are God’s instruments of glory.


God has always used his people.

3. To show off his ability.

4. To show off his plans.

5. To show off his power.

6. To show off his Church.

7. To show off his glory.



GOING DEEPER
  1. Remember a time when you felt empowered by God to accomplish a certain task. Explain.

  2. What is your favorite example of God using people, or a particular person in scripture. Why?

  3. Read 1 Corinthians 1:26-31. What insight do we gain about God using us from these verses?

  4. Read Galatians 2:20. What does it mean to be crucified with Christ? What does I no longer live mean? What does a life of faith look like?

  5. Are you being a conduit for God? How…be specific?
