Sermon Notes

Various Scriptures

"Sabbath is... a period of time to listen to what is most deeply beautiful, nourishing, or true. It is time consecrated with our attention, our mindfulness, honoring those quiet forces of grace and spirit that sustain and heal us.” ~Wayne Muller

We need to take advantage of the divine opportunity to pay attention…

  1. So we can kneel down before we fall down.

  2. Because there is more to this life than meets the eye.

  3. Because we don’t know the day or the time.

Romans 12:1-2, John 14:6, Philippians 2:5-11

"The Sabbath is a powerful tool for transforming our minds, offering a space for rest, reflection, and connection with God. It's not just about physical rest but also about engaging with God's word, nature, and creating opportunities for inner peace and renewal." ~unknown

How can the gift of Sabbath be a divine opportunity to transform our mind?

1. It gives the Holy Spirit the opportunity to take out the trash.

2. It gives us the opportunity to intentionally seek the Truth.

3. It gives us the opportunity to conform to the King.
