Pastor of Mobilization

We live right in the middle of the world's biggest mission field; we don't have to go far to get into action.

Haven has a lot of different Mobilization Opportunities that you can get involved with and make a difference RIGHT NOW .

"I join with the Mobilization Deacons in increasing awareness and encouraging congregational participation in service opportunities that bless the community while serving as an example of Christ's love for others."

Shawn Johnson,

Executive Pastor & Director of Mobilization

Opportunities to Mobilize

IMPACT Kalamazoo

Developing servant leaders and transforming communities. The students who attend our mission weeks are completely saturated in a culture of selflessness and love. They experience love for each other, fellow youth groups, home owners, and the people of Kalamazoo. Each day, each activity, and each experience is design specifically to open their eyes to the calling God has placed in their lives.

Kzoo Packs

Kzoo Packs benefit children in the Kalamazoo area who are entering the foster care system, providing them basic hygiene supplies and a small comfort item. Visit the Info Wall for a full list of items you can donate.

Prayer Shawls

Haven Church was contacted by Bronson Hospital, Bereavement Services, asking for prayer shawls. The shawls can be knitted or crocheted. We then add a general prayer of blessing, on a printed card which is attached to the shawl, and give the shawls to the Chaplain’s office at Bronson. The shawls will be distributed to those sitting with a family member or to the patients themselves as Christ’s comfort and love to the individual. In this small way we can share Christ love to those hurting.

Food Distribution

This program takes place at Haven on the 1st and 3rd Saturday from 8:30 - 9:30am each month. Volunteers distribute food, as well as interact with, pray for, and assist members of our community and congregation. This program serves hundreds of families each week and is sustained through your generous donations.

Kids Hope

One Child. One Hour. One School. One Church to make a positive difference in a child's life! Many children fall through the cracks; being able to participate in the Kids Hope Program is a way for them to excel and be encouraged to have and meet their goals. If you are interested in becoming a Mentor for Kids Hope with Haven Church, please email the office.

Christian house parents provide a loving, safe environment for these rescued girls while they receive quality education and trauma-focused therapy to help them adjust to life away from their abusers and begin rebuilding their lives.
